Foot pain can stem from various underlying causes and is a common issue that affects mobility and daily activities. Two of the most frequent conditions associated with foot pain are Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis, both of which result from overuse or strain on the foot and lower leg muscles. Achilles tendonitis occurs when the Achilles tendon becomes inflamed or irritated, often due to repetitive activities like running, jumping, or sudden increases in exercise intensity. This condition can lead to sharp pain, swelling, and difficulty walking, particularly in the back of the heel.
On the other hand, plantar fasciitis is caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot, supporting the arch. Plantar fasciitis is typically linked to long periods of standing, wearing improper footwear, or sudden weight gain, all of which place excessive strain on the foot. Individuals with flat feet or high arches are also more prone to this condition, which leads to sharp pain in the heel, especially during the first steps in the morning.
Foot pain can also be caused by muscle imbalances, poor posture, or injuries resulting from physical activity or improper footwear. Understanding the underlying cause of your foot pain is crucial for finding the right treatment, whether you’re dealing with chronic foot pain or a recent injury. Blake is super knowledgeable and thorough! I paid him a visit to work through some overall tightness and compression and he worked his magic and gave me some great advice to take home and things to work on. Highly recommend!!
Amazing therapist. Would recommend +++++
Blake is a Wizard. That's the only way to explain how well I felt after my second session, working on mildly herniated discs. He's also good for imparting lots of knowledge and a friendly natter during the session too.
I’ve had a few sessions now with Blake and am feeling much better. My hips and lower back have been off for a few years and after only a few session am feeling so much better. Will continue regular session.
Very caring and supportive. I’ve been having back pain for a while and I have been going to them for the past few weeks and I’m already seeing results and feeling better. Highly recommended!
Five-star review and then some! Have been battling a shoulder condition since March 2024, and ended up receiving cortisone injections as physio was not addressing the problem. I'd been following Blake online for a while, and being North Qld based couldn't pop down to Malvern to see him in person. However, I reached out and he was able to book in an online session. Best decision as it turns out. We had a one hour consult that diagnosed the condition, worked on some exercises to reverse the condition and I have follow up exercises for homework that are improving the condition on a daily basis. Could not recommend more highly; intuitive, capable, and a genuine pleasure to work with. Thank you Blake!
Brilliant help treatment going well
I am a hands on Physiotherapist and my work over the last 34 years has taken its toll on my body. Blake has helped me with a very complex shoulder injury. Over several treatments he has worked on some extremely tight and thickened muscles and fascial adhesions around my shoulder that are contributing to my chronic pain and shoulder dysfunction. My pain has markedly improved, as has my range of movement. Blake is intuitive, knowledgeable and caring….qualities that make a very effective therapist. I would highly recommend him.
Sam is fantastic in releasing the tightness in calf muscles and right knee. Lower back and shoulders feel great after a session too.
