Ready to Put an End to Your Shoulder Pain?

Shoulder Pain Relief That Lasts—Take Action with Nexus Bodywork Clinic in Malvern East

Causes of Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain can arise from a variety of conditions, affecting your ability to perform daily tasks and maintain a full range of motion. A common cause is shoulder impingement, where the tendons or bursa in the shoulder become compressed, leading to pain and inflammation. Bursitis, which involves inflammation of the bursa (the fluid-filled sacs that cushion the joint), is another frequent contributor to shoulder discomfort. Both of these conditions are often the result of repetitive overhead movements or poor posture.

In addition to impingement and bursitis, rotator cuff injuries are a major source of shoulder pain. The rotator cuff, made up of muscles and tendons, provides stability to the shoulder joint, and injuries here can cause sharp pain and limited mobility. Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis), where the shoulder joint becomes stiff and painful, can also significantly reduce range of motion.

Other causes of shoulder pain include tendonitis, muscle strains, and poor biomechanics during exercise or sport. Whether the pain stems from an acute injury or chronic overuse, understanding the root cause is key to providing effective treatment.

At Nexus Bodywork Clinic, we specialise in diagnosing and treating shoulder pain, offering relief for conditions like impingement, bursitis, and other common shoulder pathologies.

Our Approach to Shoulder Pain Relief

Step 1
Consultation and Assessment

Your journey to shoulder pain relief begins with a thorough consultation and assessment. During this phase, we take the time to understand your specific concerns, pain points, and goals. By reviewing your medical history, discussing your lifestyle, and conducting a comprehensive assessment, we can create a personalised treatment plan that incorporates remedial massage to address the root cause of your shoulder pain.

Step 2
Personalised Treatment Plan

Based on the information gathered during your assessment, our experienced therapists design a personalised treatment plan tailored specifically for you. This plan outlines the remedial massage techniques, targeted areas, and recommended session frequency to effectively address your shoulder pain and help you achieve lasting relief.

Step 3
Specialised Remedial Massage Sessions

Once your tailored treatment plan is in place, you'll experience our specialised remedial massage therapy sessions. These sessions are designed to target your shoulder pain, relieve tension, and improve your overall well-being. Our skilled therapists use a combination of techniques to ensure each session is both therapeutic and effective in providing lasting relief.

Blake is super knowledgeable and thorough! I paid him a visit to work through some overall tightness and compression and he worked his magic and gave me some great advice to take home and things to work on. Highly recommend!!

Blake is a Wizard. That's the only way to explain how well I felt after my second session, working on mildly herniated discs. He's also good for imparting lots of knowledge and a friendly natter during the session too.

I’ve had a few sessions now with Blake and am feeling much better. My hips and lower back have been off for a few years and after only a few session am feeling so much better. Will continue regular session.

Five-star review and then some! Have been battling a shoulder condition since March 2024, and ended up receiving cortisone injections as physio was not addressing the problem. I'd been following Blake online for a while, and being North Qld based couldn't pop down to Malvern to see him in person. However, I reached out and he was able to book in an online session. Best decision as it turns out. We had a one hour consult that diagnosed the condition, worked on some exercises to reverse the condition and I have follow up exercises for homework that are improving the condition on a daily basis. Could not recommend more highly; intuitive, capable, and a genuine pleasure to work with. Thank you Blake!

I am a hands on Physiotherapist and my work over the last 34 years has taken its toll on my body. Blake has helped me with a very complex shoulder injury. Over several treatments he has worked on some extremely tight and thickened muscles and fascial adhesions around my shoulder that are contributing to my chronic pain and shoulder dysfunction. My pain has markedly improved, as has my range of movement. Blake is intuitive, knowledgeable and caring….qualities that make a very effective therapist. I would highly recommend him.

Sam is fantastic in releasing the tightness in calf muscles and right knee. Lower back and shoulders feel great after a session too.
